I Didn’t Think I’d Find You Here

I Didn’t Think I’d Find You Here

I can’t even begin to tell you what the last two weeks have been like. To say exhausting would be an understatement. Remember when I said to expect spiritual attacks on a higher scale? Well, the enemy is trying full force with me and my family.

I was on the edge of my black abyss (depression) just looking down into the hole of nothingness. I hadnt felt this depressed in a long time. What is wrong with me?!

In one week, we had 4 sick children; two ear infections, one strep throat, and one blocked tear duct with nasty congestion and cough. To top it off, our German Shepherd, Lincoln, had to have surgery on his paw pad and almost cut it completely off. Talk about a pretty penny.

In the middle of all the chaos, I had many other things I was dealing with. Not getting to see my husband, feeling absolutely drained and burnt out on life, not being the beast of an employee like I always am, and just knowing that I’m staring my black abyss in the eye is enough for me.

I had to stop myself and think the other day – “Have I hit my knees one time during all of this madness?”. My answer was – no. Not ONE TIME have I hit my knees and thanked God for the good things He has blessed me with. Not ONE TIME did I keep my eyes fully focused on Him. Why?

Well, instead of asking myself why, I immediately started doing what I knew I should’ve been doing the entire time – talking to Him, praising Him, and thanking Him.

So here I am today, after 14 days of my black abyss, to share this beautiful reminder with you.

The Lord sees you! He hears you! He has not left your side! Even when you are the one stopping the communication in your relationship with Him, He is still there. He is just waiting for you to welcome Him back in. He has something beautiful planned for your life. He LOVES YOU!

It’s not the news that any of us hoped that we would hear.
It’s not the road we would have chosen, no.
The only thing that we can see is darkness up ahead – but you’re asking us to lay our worry down and sing a song instead.
And I didn’t know I’d find you here, in the middle of my deepest fear, but you were drawing near, you were overwhelming me with peace. So I lift my voice and sing: “You’re gonna carry us through everything!”
You were drawing near, you’re overwhelming all my fears with peace.
You say that I should come to you with everything I need. You’re asking me to thank you even when the pain is deep. You promise that you’ll come and meet us on the road ahead. And no matter what the fear says, you give me a reason to be glad.
Here in the middle of the lonely night, here in the middle of the losing fight, you’re here in the middle of the deep regret, here when the healing hasn’t happened yet. Here in the middle of the desert place, here in the middle when I cannot see your face. Here in the middle with your outstretched arms, you can see my pain and it breaks your heart.
And I didn’t know I’d find you here, in the middle of my deepest fear, but you were drawing near, you were overwhelming me with peace. So I lift my voice and sing: “You’re gonna carry me through everything!” And you were drawing near, you’re overwhelming all my fears with peace.

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 7

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 7

I haven’t been feeling in the writing mood the last couple days. I know the enemy is trying to take away my desire and fire. However, I still have that desire and the fire of the Holy Spirit. So let’s continue…

SEED OF TRUTH: Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ

What words does Paul use to describe our position before Christ in verse 12? We were seperate from Him. But what does Paul say that has changed all that? That we’ve been brought near by the Blood of Christ!

PLANT THE SEED

Quietly recite today’s focus verse (below) to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the rest of today and tomorrow.

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

Ephesians 2:13

WATER THE SEED

In 1 Peter 2:10 we are told, “Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” So often we find ourselves feeling as though we are unable to draw as near to the Lord as we would like. There seems to be a wall. As you meditate on your scripture today, focus on the truth that the Lord has brought you near, the wall has been busted down, and you are able to enter into His room at anytime. Make the most of your day today by reciting this scripture over and over and choosing to believe what it says instead of how you feel.

BEAR THE FRUIT

Brought near by the blood of Christ.

CLOSE IN PRAYER

Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 6

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 6

It’s Friday! Usuaually, I’d be stoked. Today, however, had me in a funk. I just felt…. Blah. Do you know what I mean? So I’m continuing to ask for prayers. I need to be obedient to Father and stay consistent.

SEED OF TRUTH

8. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– 9. not by works, so that no one can boast. 10. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10 New International Version (NIV)

This passage of scripture tells us that our salvation is a gift of God. Have we fully and gratefully received this gift? There may be times when we feel unworthy of it, ( a lot of the time) or we may even take it for granted. Read verse 8, slowly, one. word. at. a. time. How did you come to receive this gift of salvation? Forgiveness? Love?

It is by grace – unmerited, undeserved, unearned favor. You have been given this grace because of God’s great love and rich mercy. It is given for a purpose, one that God has planned.

PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today’s focus verse (below) to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the night and tomorrow. I need to meditate on this really bad. I’ve been going through some down, negative thinking, which I’m positive is the enemy.

WATER THE SEED

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Have you ever thought about what it means to be His workmanship? Everything – your life circumstances, your personality, your talents, your strengths, and your weaknesses – has contributed to who you are and who you have been chosen to be in Christ. Take time today to thank God for His workmanship in you! Ask Him to help you see how He has gifted you to bless the body of Christ. Listen and observe. Ask Him to give you wisdom and understanding. Follow Him as He leads you in the path of righteousness and patiently allow Him to lead. May you be encouraged!

All I want from you is to trust me with what little you can, and grow in loving people around you with the same love I share with you. It’s not your job to change them, or to convince them. You are free to love without an agenda.” – William Paul Young, The Shack

I’ve seen myself and others feel as if their workmanship is to convince other people of God’s love. That’s not how workmanship works. We just show Christ living in us and people will want the joy and peace we have without us having to shove the word down their throats. We teach by how we live, Beloveds.

BEAR THE FRUIT: We are created for good works.

CLOSE IN PRAYER:
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

Does your heart feel different? Have you taken a bold move that you normally wouldn’t have? I’d love to pray you personally. Send me an email to youhimandher@gmail.com and let’s chat. Let’s encourage each other and keep our spirits lifted as we experience an uproar of spiritual warfare against us while we plant new seeds.
