Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 2

Well, it’s Monday. I hope you haven’t had the Monday blues. Did you come across a time to put into action the spiritual blessing you prayed about yesterday?

Our SEED OF TRUTH this evening will begin by reading Ephesians.

11. In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will: 12. That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit promise, 14. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:11-14 KJ

Here it is again in The Passions Translation:

11. Through our union with Christ we too have been claimed by God as his own inheritance. Before we were even born, he gave us our destiny; that we would fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes every purpose and plan in his heart. 12. God’s purpose was that we Jews, who were the first to long for the messianic hope, would be the first to believe in the Anointed One and bring great praise and glory to God! 13. And because of Him, when you who are not Jews heard the revelation of truth, you believed in the wonderful news of salvation. Now we have been stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit. 14. He is given to us like an engagement ring is given to a bride, as the first installment of what’s coming! He is our hope-promise of a future inheritance which seals us until we have all of redemption’s promises and experience complete freedom-all for the supreme glory and honor of God!

Ephesians 1:11-14 TPT

What have you been given in Christ? What did you or have you learned about your purpose? Whose plan is always accomplished or whose will is done? Is it your way or is it His way?

As we PLANT THE SEED tonight, quietly recite today’s focus verse, located below, to yourself. Remember to hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day tomorrow.

“In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.”

Ephesians 1:11 KJV

WATER THE SEED by knowing that you have been given spiritual blessings that CANNOT be taken away from you. You can rest and feel safe always, knowing God is good. He works everything – ALL THINGS – according to His plan. You can take deep breaths, relax, and not worry because you are His. You are in Christ and He is in YOU! The Almighty is in US! I am still left speechless sometimes thinking about all that He has placed in us; HIM.

There is a reason why you have continued to read and put into work this 40 day challenge of Preparing Our Gardens. Think for a moment about God’s work in your life and how He has brought you to Himself, taught you in His word, and drawn you to my blog today. There is no such thing as a coincidence when God is in control of your life. I honestly cannot believe that I have stuck this out for as long as I have. I used to give up or lose interest in things very easily. But with the inspiration He has given me through the garden in The Shack, I just cannot stop praising, thanking, and working with Him. What if you were to think on the “SEED OF TRUTH” all throughout the day? You could copy and paste it in a text or e-mail to yourself, better yet, write it on a piece of paper or stick it to the home screen of your cell phone. Reflection is key and you need to reflect on this SEED OF TRUTH instead of worrying or dwelling on earthly things. Water it and help it grow. You don’t have to be a professional gardener to sprout this seed; God is doing that for you.

BEAR THE FRUIT – He works ALL things according to His plan. As long as we are doing all of the above, we will always BEAR THE FRUIT according to His plan. We have to have faith in Him. We have to TRUST Him. Do you?

“…if anything matters then everything matters. Because you are important, everything you do is important. Every time you forgive, the universe changes; every time you reach out and touch a heart or a life, the world changes; with every kindness and service, seen or unseen, my purposes are accomplished and nothing will be the same again.”

The Shack

Let us CLOSE IN PRAYER. Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has planted in your heart today. Give thanks to Him for the work He is doing in and around you so that you can BEAR THE FRUIT He has planned for you.

Are you going through spiritual warfare? If so, pray about that also. We have his power indwelling in us. Do not give in to that sudden temptation. Do not freak out and let your emotions take over, instead, pray to have His thoughts. Have you had something financial come up that you feel is destructive in your life? Don’t let the enemy take your eyes off of what God’s plan is for you. The more you focus on Him and pray, the more faith you gain in Him and the more pleased He is with the trust you have in Him. Satan and his minions do not like that you are doing this work in your garden today. Keep His armor on. If you need a prayer to read directly from, I highly suggest you read the one from Charles Stanley. I have website added to my home page on my phone and also printed out at my desk at work. Here is the link: It will open in a new tab.

Before ending your reading, Beloveds, take 7 minutes to listen to this video by Graham Cooke, one of my favorites.

Preparing Your Garden – Ready the Soil – Part 4

Today has been a day of relaxation. Even though I have had a sick child and another being the most beautiful wild flower in the world, I have been relaxed. I know what it feels like to be STILL. I have only recently been shown what being STILL in the Lord actually means, but it is such an amazing feeling. So this is why I am writing and publishing this so late this evening. But let’s begin, shall we?

Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”

Luke 8:19-21 NIV

If you need to read that passage again, go ahead. Really see what Jesus is saying here. – “those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”  – He is reiterating the same point. Something repeated is important. You may feel that what I write may be repeating itself. “Why does this sound just like yesterday?”

This is going to take time. You can not rush into Preparing Your Garden. Christ is the time keeper here and after all, this is the relationship that you have with Him. It took me a long time to realize this. His time. How important my relationship is with Him. There are things I have prayed about for 10+ years that have STILL not been answered. Or have they and maybe I have not taken notice to it? I need to pray about that and start taking a look. Any who, this is your individual relationship with Christ. Just like you are committed to your marriages, jobs, children – this relationship has an even HIGHER importance than those. So this is a life-long commitment. You have to be all in. We can’t be lukewarm, brothers and sisters.

Tonight, tenderly, quietly, bravely and fearlessly ask yourself, “How am I responding to God’s word? Do I merely agree with it or do I really obey it as well?”

2018 was a year full of witnessing friends, family, and people of fellowship coming to the realization that they had been hearing God’s word and believing God’s word but not really doing it. They thought they they were following Jesus. I have seen people sob deeply in repentance for not doing, for all the opportunities missed, and what that has taken away from their lives and the lives of those they love. (My husband and I did this a couple years ago). Some of those same people battle so hard today to completely die of self and surrender to Jesus. Haven’t we all been there? When you’re experiencing your life with Christ at the center of it, your heart breaks for people that haven’t experienced it. We do not have the ability to follow Jesus if we don’t follow Him in absolute surrender.

I have really been doing it; the work and the resting, hearing and listening to Him. The transformation has been indescribable. Now, I still have a lot of work to do. Believe me! I am still learning and growing. I am literally doing this, all of this, with you! I have felt so much growth in different aspects of my life and I have also noticed in the last month what seeds He is planting; and there are plenty more to come.

Most roads don’t lead anywhere. What it does mean is that I will travel any road to find you.

The Shack – pg 182

“My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.” – Wow – There is an inseparable connection between love and obedience. You don’t even have the desire to be disobedient. (Don’t forget about the spiritual warfare though. As you continue to overcome and say no to the things of the world (your sin), the desire grows and grows). You may be distracted, lulled to sleep, or so challenged by your circumstances that you aren’t able to focus on God’s word and take it seriously. You may be giving yourself excuses. But Jesus’ words are clear, folks!

We have to make time! My husband and I both work 40+ hours a week, we have 4 children that are 10 years old and younger, a household to maintain, bills, and a life just like millions of other people in this world. You can make the time and the more your desire grows, the more time you’ll WANT to make. But the time has to be given! Do not delay. He needs His soldiers to rise up and start walking with Him. He longs for us. He loves us so much. Right now we need to be strong in Him so we can be strong everyday and for what battles are ahead.

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.”

Luke 14:26

“So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.”

Luke 14:33

It is time to put pride aside. Do you understand what He just said? If we do not hate those we love and even ourselves for not renouncing all that we have, we cannot be his disciple. That is serious! Our Lord is just and he doesn’t say things just to chat. He means what He says. As painful as it might be, ask yourself this question: “Do I merely agree with God’s word or do I obey it as well?”

Isn’t it better to weep now rather than later? Absolutely! Ask the Lord for His help, for His mercy on you, a sinner. Confess your apathy (lack on interest), your fear, and your unbelief. Ask Him for His grace and strength to surrender all. What might it mean? Loss of control? Possible failure? Loss of self? Admitting that things aren’t as they seem? Not having your sinful comforts?

Falsehood has an infinity of combinations, but truth has only one mode of being.

The Shack – Chapter 13

“O Lord, help me see that you don’t want to take anything away from me, but that you want to give me abundant life! You want to give me yourself!”

This is the song that I listened to before writing and during this tonight. Close your eyes or read the lyrics when you listen. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you. Do not fear, let Him in.
