Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 1

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 1

Happy Sunday! If you didn’t notice the change in title, today we start Planting and Tending to our garden.

Let’s read: SEED OF TRUTH

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: Ephesians 1:1‭-‬10 KJV

What I want us to do is look back through the passage and make a list of our spiritual blessings in Christ. If you have a journal or notepad, write them down. Is there one specific blessing that stands out or touches you this evening? If not, that’s just fine. As you see all of them, speak them to your heart and make them personal. Pause for a moment in reading and take some time to pray about them. Here is the same passage but in The Passion Translation:

1. Dear friends, My name is Paul, and I was chosen by God to be an apostle of Jesus, the Messiah. 2. I’m writing this letter to all the devoted believers who have been made holy by being one with Jesus, the Anointed One. May God himself, the heavenly Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, release grace over you and impart total well-being into your lives. 3. Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts! 4. And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence. 5-6. For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace—for the same love he has for his Beloved One, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure! 7. Since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood—the total cancellation of our sins—all because of the cascading riches of his grace. 8. This superabundant grace is already powerfully working in us, releasing within us all forms of wisdom and practical understanding. 9. And through the revelation of the Anointed One, he unveiled his secret desires to us—the hidden mystery of his long-range plan, which he was delighted to implement from the very beginning of time. 10. And because of God’s unfailing purpose, this detailed plan will reign supreme through every period of time until the fulfillment of all the ages finally reaches its climax—when God makes all things new in all of heaven and earth through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:1‭-‬10 TPT

Find out which one touches you. So for example, this is one that sticks out to me:

10 And because of God’s unfailing purpose, this detailed plan will reign supreme through every period of time until the fulfillment of all the ages finally reaches its climax—when God makes all things new in all of heaven and earth through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:10 TPT

Next, we Plant The Seed.

Quietly repeat this evenings focus verse to yourself; the one that sticks out to you. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it tonight and tomorrow.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Ephesians 1:3 KJV

Now that the verse is hidden in our hearts, we Water The Seed.

Think about what it really means to be blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing. It’s hard to phathom but it’s true! Take a couple minutes to prayerfully think about how you can start and continue through your day tomorrow with all of this in mind. When you have to make a decision, have a crisis, or find hard feelings arising, recite your verse quietly to yourself. Then, brothers and sister, go forward in faith believing “God has blessed me in Christ with every spiritual blessing.” Remember His strength and pray for it tomorrow morning. Remember His love.

We want to Bear The Fruit.

And the fruit of this reading is knowing we are blessed with every spiritual blessing. YOU, are blessed with every spiritual blessing!

Close In Prayer. Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today. Ignite that fire! Keep that seed deeply hidden so you can water it and bear fruit.

Spouse Working on Their Off Day Again?

Spouse Working on Their Off Day Again?

Listen ladies and gents, I know ALL about my husband working on his off days and the time it takes away from me and our children.

What I want to do today is just go to God in prayer to help my husband succeed in his work.

When he first started his new position it was difficult to adjust to. I was having terrible evenings, was upset, and felt pushed to the side. I no longer feel that way.

I started reading what God says my role is as a wife. I’m his helper. It took a few weeks to fully grasp and accept what that meant for me. But I did it because I want to be the best wife I can be to my husband and I want to please the Lord.

God has wired people to achieve and to be successful in their work. He gave us all strengths and gifts for a reason. This doesn’t just apply to men but to women, as well. However, the husband does feel more of the pressures to provide for the home. Men want to succeed in their work; in fact, if a man continues to fail in his work, he will probably struggle in every other area of his life, especially at home. I definitely do not want my husband feeling like he is failing. Therefore, I help him succeed by taking my prayers to heaven for supernatural help in his work and in himself.

I know a Lot about his job and what goes on every day. When he talks to me about it, I listen and then I ask him questions. Even though, it has, in the past, been talked about too much, I am still his number one fan and I am committed to my duty as his wife; being his helper.

If you struggle with your spouses job and the responsibilities they hold take some time to ask these kinds of questions:

· What is the biggest breakthrough you had this week or wish you could have this week?

· What do you want to see in your colleagues, employees, or your own managements way of work ethic and character, and how can you help improve them?

· What do you need to do in order to be able to spend more time at home?

And don’t stop here, expand on those questions. Ask your spouse questions that will reveal the specific ways you can pray to God on their behalf. Don’t just ask God to “please help my husband/wife at work.” Anyone could pray in that way, but only you have the heart to really uncover what you want to ask God to do for your husband/wife that would make them dance with joy. Pray specifically for those things.

Do you know what would mean the world to your husband/wife if it came true this year? This month? This week? Sadly, very few men/women have any idea about the work life of their spouse except when they aren’t home on time or they are working od their off day. Again. As you encourage their growth and success at work, the blessing will boomerang to your home as well.

Today, I am thankful for his work ethic and his growth. It is such a pleasure to see the man he continues to grow into each and everyday. And he’s able to grow because he can focus on certain aspects of his life without stress or nagging from me. Instead, my husband has a helper.

When your thoughts transform from your own and into God’s, this way of thinking becomes so much easier and even happens without you “thinking” about it. It’s an amazing feeling. I’m not mad, angry, stressed, or resentful. I’m able to go about my day with the feeling of fulfillment. I thank the Lord for giving that to me.

And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!
