When we wash our hands, they look clean. But if we were to see them under a microscope, we’d probably be surprised at the number of germs we actually carry.
Sin is like that. No matter how good we think we are or how we try to hide the dark parts of our lives, sin is sin.
The good news is. God offers to cleanse us.
What sin do you hold in your life today? Is there one that comes straight to mind above the rest? Take some time today to ask God for His help in ridding that sin from your life. Ask Him to reveal why you love that sin so much so then you can begin healing that wound. That, my friends, is how we are able to truly turn away from sin.
You must know where it came from, why you like it, and how to replace it with God’s love.
I will be praying for all of you who read this today. May God show you what He wants you to dig up next.
Since we are doing 40 days our Preparing Your Garden, I figured it was only appropriate, interesting and exciting to learn about the flowers and plants in the Bible.
Acacia (Huisache)Exodus 37:1
In Hebrew it is known as the Shittah Tree, and its wood is called shittim. This gnarly tree, one of the few which grows in the Sinai desert, also provided hard brown wood for the furniture of the Tabernacle. Acacias grow by the wadis (dry creek beds) and require a warm climate. They are flat topped, sport thorns larger than their leaves, and have yellow flowers followed by hard brown seed pods. The gum of this tree had value as an insect repellant. It is one of the trees Isaiah (Isaiah 41:19) says God will plant after He has provided rivers, springs and pools of water for His thirsty people in the wilderness. It will cause them to testify of His faithfulness.
Allium (Garlic) Numbers 11:5
Onions, leaks, and garlic are all from the same family of plants. They were used by the Egyptians to make food savory. When the Israelites wandered in the Sinai desert they bemoaned the loss of these food enhancers and complained about their life nourishing manna. The garlic plant produces a bulb or head with separate cloves. The rabble in the desert stunk and their stink contaminated others, i.e., Israelites.
Aloe (Aloe Vera) John 19:39
The combination of myrrh and aloe juice with water was the recipe for embalming. The Aloe plant leaves are succulent multi toothed and pointed. In early spring it produces spikes of yellow flowers. Even today, the juice of its leaves is used for burns and to heal skin lesions. Aloe and Myrrh were wrapped around Jesus’ body after Joseph lowered Him from the cross.
Anemone Song of Solomon 2:12
One of the earliest spring flowers in the Holy Land is the brightly colored Anemone or poppy. Although only about a foot tall, its strong red, blue or purple blossoms make it a joyful harbinger of spring. They don’t like wet feet nor do they tolerate freezing.
Anise (correctly translated Dill) Matthew 23:23
Anise seeds were a required tithe to the Levites, who were not given land to raise crops or animals. Levites were to be supported with tithes from the other tribes. Anise is an aromatic annual used in cooking and pickling. Medicinally it was used to relieve colic or gas.
If you are enjoying this, please like, comment, and share this post or ALL of them! I appreciate your help with reaching others.

Well, it’s Monday. I hope you haven’t had the Monday blues. Did you come across a time to put into action the spiritual blessing you prayed about yesterday?
Our SEED OF TRUTH this evening will begin by reading Ephesians.
11. In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will: 12. That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit promise, 14. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Ephesians 1:11-14 KJ
Here it is again in The Passions Translation:
11. Through our union with Christ we too have been claimed by God as his own inheritance. Before we were even born, he gave us our destiny; that we would fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes every purpose and plan in his heart. 12. God’s purpose was that we Jews, who were the first to long for the messianic hope, would be the first to believe in the Anointed One and bring great praise and glory to God! 13. And because of Him, when you who are not Jews heard the revelation of truth, you believed in the wonderful news of salvation. Now we have been stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit. 14. He is given to us like an engagement ring is given to a bride, as the first installment of what’s coming! He is our hope-promise of a future inheritance which seals us until we have all of redemption’s promises and experience complete freedom-all for the supreme glory and honor of God!
Ephesians 1:11-14 TPT
What have you been given in Christ? What did you or have you learned about your purpose? Whose plan is always accomplished or whose will is done? Is it your way or is it His way?
As we PLANT THE SEED tonight, quietly recite today’s focus verse, located below, to yourself. Remember to hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day tomorrow.
“In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.”
Ephesians 1:11 KJV
WATER THE SEED by knowing that you have been given spiritual blessings that CANNOT be taken away from you. You can rest and feel safe always, knowing God is good. He works everything – ALL THINGS – according to His plan. You can take deep breaths, relax, and not worry because you are His. You are in Christ and He is in YOU! The Almighty is in US! I am still left speechless sometimes thinking about all that He has placed in us; HIM.
There is a reason why you have continued to read and put into work this 40 day challenge of Preparing Our Gardens. Think for a moment about God’s work in your life and how He has brought you to Himself, taught you in His word, and drawn you to my blog today. There is no such thing as a coincidence when God is in control of your life. I honestly cannot believe that I have stuck this out for as long as I have. I used to give up or lose interest in things very easily. But with the inspiration He has given me through the garden in The Shack, I just cannot stop praising, thanking, and working with Him. What if you were to think on the “SEED OF TRUTH” all throughout the day? You could copy and paste it in a text or e-mail to yourself, better yet, write it on a piece of paper or stick it to the home screen of your cell phone. Reflection is key and you need to reflect on this SEED OF TRUTH instead of worrying or dwelling on earthly things. Water it and help it grow. You don’t have to be a professional gardener to sprout this seed; God is doing that for you.
BEAR THE FRUIT – He works ALL things according to His plan. As long as we are doing all of the above, we will always BEAR THE FRUIT according to His plan. We have to have faith in Him. We have to TRUST Him. Do you?
“…if anything matters then everything matters. Because you are important, everything you do is important. Every time you forgive, the universe changes; every time you reach out and touch a heart or a life, the world changes; with every kindness and service, seen or unseen, my purposes are accomplished and nothing will be the same again.”
Let us CLOSE IN PRAYER. Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has planted in your heart today. Give thanks to Him for the work He is doing in and around you so that you can BEAR THE FRUIT He has planned for you.
Are you going through spiritual warfare? If so, pray about that also. We have his power indwelling in us. Do not give in to that sudden temptation. Do not freak out and let your emotions take over, instead, pray to have His thoughts. Have you had something financial come up that you feel is destructive in your life? Don’t let the enemy take your eyes off of what God’s plan is for you. The more you focus on Him and pray, the more faith you gain in Him and the more pleased He is with the trust you have in Him. Satan and his minions do not like that you are doing this work in your garden today. Keep His armor on. If you need a prayer to read directly from, I highly suggest you read the one from Charles Stanley. I have website added to my home page on my phone and also printed out at my desk at work. Here is the link: https://www.libertyfellowship.com/ARMOROFGOD.HTML It will open in a new tab.
Before ending your reading, Beloveds, take 7 minutes to listen to this video by Graham Cooke, one of my favorites.
