Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 5

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 5

I am so glad you are all back with me on this day. If you wouldn’t mind taking a moment out of your busy lives to say a prayer for my household. My husband and I have 3/4 children that are sick. Thank you all in advance and I receive those prayers with faith and thankfulness .

SEED OF TRUTH: Ephesians 2:4-7

4. But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5. made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved. 6. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7. in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:4-7 TPT (The Passion Translation)

Why does God save us? Because of His great love. We were dead, but now where are we seated? In his incomparable riches of Grace! His love is so great for us; so great that we can’t even fathom it. He has made each of us so unique and has a special relationship with all of us individually.

“Each relationship between two persons is absolutely unique. That is why you cannot love two people the same. It simply is not possible. You love each person differently because of who they are and the uniqueness that they draw out of you.”

The Shack, William P. Young

PLANT THE SEED:

Quietly recite today’s focus verse (below) to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the evening and tomorrow.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.”

Ephesians 2:4-5

WATER THE SEED:

Satan works so hard to make us feel rejected, unacceptable, and like we are outcasts because he is! We are God’s, chosen before time to be His, positioned in Christ, hidden in Him, never to be cast out or forsaken, and seated at the best table. No matter who shuns or rejects us in this world, we are forever in Christ.

Pause for a moment and consider the mercy that God has showered upon you. Really plant this seed of truth in your heart and believe it. Wherever you are right now, bow your head and heart and recite these words, quietly meditating upon them: “God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which you loved me, even when I was dead in my trespasses, you made me alive together with Christ.” Close your eyes and envision the Lord’s mercy pouring over you like spring rain. Cry if you feel the need to cry. Let it pour out.

“Don’t ever discount the wonder of your tears. They can be healing waters and a stream of joy. Sometimes they are the best words the heart can speak.”

The Shack, William P. Young

BEAR THE FRUIT: Mercy and God’s great love.

CLOSE IN PRAYER:
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today. It is so important for us to soak in His love. Take some time this evening, in a closet, car, shower, or wherever you can focus on God’s love and just listen to the affirmations given in the video below. Close your eyes and just let the Holy Spirit squeeze and overwhelm you. You can even listen to it as you lay down to go to sleep tonight or on your way to work or home from work.

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 4

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 4

Welcome to Day 10!! We are 1/4 of the way through! We need to get a roll call going. How is everyone doing? How are you feeling? What kind of things have you seen change on the inside of you? What spiritual warfare do you have going on? What prayers do you need? Are you feeling God’s love?

SEED OF TRUTH: God’s Power Raised Us From the Dead

Here we find ourselves in Ephesians chapter 2. I have listed the KJV and TPT versions for you to read. I know some can understand the TPT version better than the KJV.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 2:1-3 KJV (King James Version

1. And His fullness fills you, even though you were once like corpses, dead in your sins and offenses. 2. It wasn’t that long ago that you lived in the religion, customs, and values of this world, obeying the dark ruler of the earthly realm who fills the atmosphere with his authority, and works diligently in the hearts of those who are disobedient to the truth of God. 3. The corruption that was in us from birth was expressed through the deeds and desires of our self – life. We lived by whatever natural cravings and thoughts our minds dictated, living as rebellious children subject to God’s wrath like everyone else.

Ephesians 2:1-3 TPT (The Passion Translation)

After reading this, what do you think Paul says about our position before Christ? How does the first verse describe our welfare? What are we able to do in that element? Who were we following in verse 2? What indignation controlled us? In Christ, we are now His adopted sons, but what does Paul say we were in verse 3? Yikes! Rebellious children. Children of wrath!

PLANT THE SEED

Quietly recite today’s focus verse (below) to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the rest of this day and tomorrow.

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 2:3 KJV

WATER THE SEED

The more we recognize the depth of our wickedness, the more we will truly love the Gospel. We still live with the presence of sin. We were born in sin, but in Christ we have been given the power over sin. Sin’s power has been broken, and we are no longer enslaved to it. We have been set free because the cost for sin has been paid. We are now in Christ.

Today pay attention to your thoughts and actions. What earthly passions rise up within you that you have combated? What earthly desires have you said “no” to? What thoughts have you learned to just put out of your head. Write these down and give thanks to the Lord if you have seen growth. If you are not denying yourself in areas you know you should be, ask the Lord for His forgiveness and His help. We once lived in the passions of our flesh. But not today!

BEAR THE FRUIT: No longer a child of wrath and worldly passions.

CLOSE IN PRAYER: Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 3

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 3

Another day, another root being dug out in preparation for our new seeds!

Hello, again! Today is Day 9 of this 40 day journey. I don’t know about you but it feels like it’s been a lot longer than 9 days. That’s probably because of the growth that’s taken place and also all the warfare that’s come into play. Well, the enemy can try and play all he wants but I see his attempts. I actually wrote about his possible strategies yesterday or the day before and he has started to try and take me off of God’s path. He doesn’t want me to continue growing and especially not telling other people about God or helping them. What we need to keep doing is pressing forward. As he tries to push us back, we laugh first and then push back 10 times harder. So let’s keep Tending Our Garden, shall we? Fearlessly and courageously.

SEED OF TRUTH: Paul Prays for the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

15. Because of this, since I first heard about your strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and your tender love toward all His devoted ones, 16. my heart is always full and overflowing with thanks to God for you as I constantly remember you in my prayers. 17. I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know Him through your deepening intimacy with Him.

18. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of His calling – that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that He finds in us, His holy ones!

19. I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power 20. that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm! 21. And now he is exalted as first above every ruler, authority, government, and realm of power in existence! He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised, not only in this age, but in the age that is coming!

22. And he alone is the leader and source of everything needed in the church. God has put everything beneath the authority of Jesus Christ and has given him the highest rank above all others. 23. And now we, His church, are His body on the earth and that which fills Him who is being filled by it!

Ephesians 1:15-23 TPT (The Passion Translation)

What does Paul pray for the church and for Christians everywhere? Go back and read His prayer knowing that, as one of God’s adopted “sons,” Jesus prays for you each day. Can you imagine Jesus praying this prayer for you?! Try replacing the word “you” with your name and quietly recite this passage to yourself but say it aloud. It is incredible! Believe this as true, brothers and sisters, because it is!

PLANT THE SEED

By now you should know the drill. Let’s take a moment to recite today’s focus verse (below) to ourselves. Don’t forget to change the “You’s” to your name. He is praying for YOU. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the night and tomorrow.

18. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of *name*’s imagination, flooding *name* with light, until *name* experiences the full revelation of the hope of His calling – that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that He finds in *name*, His holy one!

19. I pray that *name* will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to *name* through faith. Then *name*’s life will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through *name*! This is the mighty power…

Ephesians 1:18-19 TPT (The Passion Translation

How did that feel? My heart rate has increased a bit. Have you been able to accept that YOU are THAT IMPORTANT to Him? Your value and identity is in Christ! Jesus shed His blood on the cross so you are not held by responsibilities and expectations that lead you to shame and guilt because they are unreachable. We are living under Grace and Mercy.

Responsibilities and expectations are the bases of guilt and shame and judgment, and they proved the essential framework that promotes performance as the basis for identity and value.

The Shack, pg 206

WATER THE SEED

Let’s take it a step further and pray Paul’s prayer for our family members and for close friends. Pray it for a friend you see seeking after the Lord with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Now, pray it for yourself. Just as Paul prayed for the Ephesians and the church, remember that Jesus prays each day, each hour, and each moment for YOU! Come again? This is so wild. Jesus prays for you and I! Ask Him to help you see things through His eyes. Remember to “water this seed” throughout your day. Grow truth in your heart until you have a full garden of faith and righteousness!

Faith does not grow in the house of certainty.

The Shack, pg 189

BEAR THE FRUIT: Pray that you will know Him fully.

CLOSE IN PRAYER

Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today. Every day I will tell you to pray this. Bring it to life, Lord! We are thirsty. We have a desire to know you better! We want to walk in the Will that you have for our lives. We want to be your vessels, Father. Listen to this prayer below for your Identity and Inheritance in Christ.

A Prayer for Identity and Inheritance by Graham Cooke

If you feel the Spirit moving in your life and feel led to share this amazing journey, please take a moment to share this with the friend/s or family members you prayed the focus verse for. Now, you don’t have to tell them that you prayed for them. If you want to, tell them all! Help me keep this outreach going. Our fellowship and growth is so amazing and necessary. If you would like to reach out to me, you can do so by sending me an email to youhimandher@gmail.com or by messaging me through the You Him and Her Facebook page. I cannot thank you enough for your continued prayerful support through this season.
