Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 5

I am so glad you are all back with me on this day. If you wouldn’t mind taking a moment out of your busy lives to say a prayer for my household. My husband and I have 3/4 children that are sick. Thank you all in advance and I receive those prayers with faith and thankfulness .

SEED OF TRUTH: Ephesians 2:4-7

4. But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5. made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved. 6. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7. in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:4-7 TPT (The Passion Translation)

Why does God save us? Because of His great love. We were dead, but now where are we seated? In his incomparable riches of Grace! His love is so great for us; so great that we can’t even fathom it. He has made each of us so unique and has a special relationship with all of us individually.

“Each relationship between two persons is absolutely unique. That is why you cannot love two people the same. It simply is not possible. You love each person differently because of who they are and the uniqueness that they draw out of you.”

The Shack, William P. Young

PLANT THE SEED:

Quietly recite today’s focus verse (below) to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the evening and tomorrow.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.”

Ephesians 2:4-5

WATER THE SEED:

Satan works so hard to make us feel rejected, unacceptable, and like we are outcasts because he is! We are God’s, chosen before time to be His, positioned in Christ, hidden in Him, never to be cast out or forsaken, and seated at the best table. No matter who shuns or rejects us in this world, we are forever in Christ.

Pause for a moment and consider the mercy that God has showered upon you. Really plant this seed of truth in your heart and believe it. Wherever you are right now, bow your head and heart and recite these words, quietly meditating upon them: “God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which you loved me, even when I was dead in my trespasses, you made me alive together with Christ.” Close your eyes and envision the Lord’s mercy pouring over you like spring rain. Cry if you feel the need to cry. Let it pour out.

“Don’t ever discount the wonder of your tears. They can be healing waters and a stream of joy. Sometimes they are the best words the heart can speak.”

The Shack, William P. Young

BEAR THE FRUIT: Mercy and God’s great love.

CLOSE IN PRAYER:
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today. It is so important for us to soak in His love. Take some time this evening, in a closet, car, shower, or wherever you can focus on God’s love and just listen to the affirmations given in the video below. Close your eyes and just let the Holy Spirit squeeze and overwhelm you. You can even listen to it as you lay down to go to sleep tonight or on your way to work or home from work.

Preparing Your Garden – Planting & Tending – Part 4

Welcome to Day 10!! We are 1/4 of the way through! We need to get a roll call going. How is everyone doing? How are you feeling? What kind of things have you seen change on the inside of you? What spiritual warfare do you have going on? What prayers do you need? Are you feeling God’s love?

SEED OF TRUTH: God’s Power Raised Us From the Dead

Here we find ourselves in Ephesians chapter 2. I have listed the KJV and TPT versions for you to read. I know some can understand the TPT version better than the KJV.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 2:1-3 KJV (King James Version

1. And His fullness fills you, even though you were once like corpses, dead in your sins and offenses. 2. It wasn’t that long ago that you lived in the religion, customs, and values of this world, obeying the dark ruler of the earthly realm who fills the atmosphere with his authority, and works diligently in the hearts of those who are disobedient to the truth of God. 3. The corruption that was in us from birth was expressed through the deeds and desires of our self – life. We lived by whatever natural cravings and thoughts our minds dictated, living as rebellious children subject to God’s wrath like everyone else.

Ephesians 2:1-3 TPT (The Passion Translation)

After reading this, what do you think Paul says about our position before Christ? How does the first verse describe our welfare? What are we able to do in that element? Who were we following in verse 2? What indignation controlled us? In Christ, we are now His adopted sons, but what does Paul say we were in verse 3? Yikes! Rebellious children. Children of wrath!

PLANT THE SEED

Quietly recite today’s focus verse (below) to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the rest of this day and tomorrow.

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 2:3 KJV

WATER THE SEED

The more we recognize the depth of our wickedness, the more we will truly love the Gospel. We still live with the presence of sin. We were born in sin, but in Christ we have been given the power over sin. Sin’s power has been broken, and we are no longer enslaved to it. We have been set free because the cost for sin has been paid. We are now in Christ.

Today pay attention to your thoughts and actions. What earthly passions rise up within you that you have combated? What earthly desires have you said “no” to? What thoughts have you learned to just put out of your head. Write these down and give thanks to the Lord if you have seen growth. If you are not denying yourself in areas you know you should be, ask the Lord for His forgiveness and His help. We once lived in the passions of our flesh. But not today!

BEAR THE FRUIT: No longer a child of wrath and worldly passions.

CLOSE IN PRAYER: Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.
